Welcome to the public web log of Fred Lambuth
There is a third Plotly figure in the /dash/global dashboard. It is somewhat the result of a happy accident. I could not figure out how to strech the choropleth map horizontally to make the default size more clickable. To fill out the dead space I decided upon some sort of third figure. I am pleased with the results. I’m thinking about tweaking the colors so that it is distinguished from my other two figures, which are sourced from my related but different data. I did like how ‘chartreuse’ popped on screen.
On the review front we have the movie Get Him To The Greek. A movie I had not seen together in one full run; only in fifteen minute pieces when it’s the only thing worth watching on a hotel TV’s channel selection. It has jokes, but not enough of them to pull this movie out of the realm of forgettables. The performer who never failed in this production was Puff Daddy, or whatever name he uses now. That dude can deliver golden comedy lines. He found his mark here even more in his role as a quack herbal healer on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I think he ought to do more of that stuff.
The movie is thirteen years old. That number does sound accurate but this movie forever lives in my thoughts as just a few years ago. When I see Jonah Hill and Russel Brand now I can clearly see that is not the case. The movie’s settings though felt like it could have been made today. It was made in 2010, just before smartphones became dominant rather than a cool gadget. That is sort of the mark when I cannot tell what year it is by looking at a picture. Anything before 2010ish you can date by playing detective with the technology on display. To do that with post 2010 pictures you have to have a keen eye for fashion or iPhone model variances.
