Huzzah! Big splashy visual updates! If you care to take a gander at the pull down menu for ‘Spotify’ you will find some web pages that use Javascript to handle dynamic design changes. A little bit of web 2.0! Let’s party like it’s 2007! I did give raw javascript in my templates a shot. It kept getting more complicated than what I felt was worth the effort. Luckily I found tha Bootstrap is doing a lot of JS work without me having to directly reference it, just wield it through divs in my templates.
The review section this time has The Dirty Dozen up for discussion. I had seen it as a child, finding it somewhat to my liking. It tickled the same ultra-macho sensibilities I had gathered from the Schwarzenegger and Stalone pictures that dominated the cinema throughout my childhood. The cast of that movie were unknown to me as a child-except for the unmistakable Charles Bronson. As I grew up the movie beckoned me to watch it again as I learned how chockful the dirty dozen was with old Hollywood talent.
Telly Savalas turning out to be a Southerner was a surprise. Him playing a violent man driven by delusions of religious sanction was spot on casting. He didn’t exactly play up a southern accent for the role. It’s a small caveat to the enjoyment of this viewing of the movie. This is better than a lot of that 80’s action schlock I preferred as a child. I’d stack it up against Predator as the manliest movie ever. Sure, not by body mass, but definitely by chutzpah.
