I suppose this does not have to be about the absolute minutia of what tech problems I had since the last time I wrote a blog post. There were very few development troubles getting my next feature installed here. Well I suppose there is, but I'll save it for the LinkedIn post that talks about the update. Instead of this post I will write about whatever the hell I want. For instance... Uh...

Last year I somewhat took a hiatus from book reading. My usual rhythm is a few books a month, or about thirty a year. That somewhat intentional experiment is over. 2023 has had me reading at a steady pace again. The current one is the first book in The Culture series, Consider Phlebas. It turned out to be a very long space opera. I was hoping it would be a super long screed about galactic political theory. You know, about The Culture! Instead the plot is mostly about a shapeshifting space mercenary getting in and out of jams.
