The Zelda Franchise is Actually a Link Chain

2023-Jun-16

Viernes Gigante! A great big sack of updates to gush about. It’s a deep list, not a wide one. Everything new, except for some CSS touch ups, is in the /stats section of my URL mapping. That mapping has been there for a while but I did not feel I had the web dev chops to harness that interface between the HTML (with relative links) I’m generating and the information being passed in by the URL. After some wild and reckless turns into the (new to me) calendar module from the Python standard library, I came up with a way to make a list of lists, with each list being seven integers representing the day of the month. I asked openai’s chatbot to make me a jinja template to make a calendar based on the calendar info I pass in from my Flask view. It worked right out the gate.

I think I mentioned before that the most throbbing pain in the development process was discovered to be a mismatch between 9 and ‘09’. Happened today. I should add hashtags to these things so I can track what I mentioned.

With all the coding at work and efforts over here at the website I have not much time to read books or play video games. I’ve been eyeballing a novel that I found from my neighborhood library box about stone cutters in colonial India. I could use a jolt of literary exoticism. From snippets I can get in before my bedtime I’ve managed to get halfway in that big mammal book. It’s rewarding and enriching until my head gets to its limit of holding new greco-latin sounding names.
