I Did a Drive Buy at The PC Shop

2023-May-07

There is definitely no noticeable update to report on the website. In the time since my last blog post my primary disk drive on my PC had failed. It had the Linux VM I keep as my development environment. Getting all things back to working order was remarkably easy. The only thing I have yet to change is moving up to WSL version 2. I had reset all my BIOS conditions when I was doing some disk drive troubleshooting. Apparently one of them was allowing virtualization. Next time I restart I have to remember to catch the BIOS before my system boots up.

So many concerts to report on, but no books. Very little of my free time has been used on recreational reading. Mona Lisa Overdrive is still where I left it about a month ago. Dinosaur Jr was the most meticulously engineered and rehearsed band I had seen in a while. Their performance was a 1:1 representation of their studio recorded stuff. They are very shaggy looking music professionals.

I also got the chance to see The Psychedelic Furs. They're not the type of show I would normally spring for, but my brother had a last minute cancellation that left them on my lap. They played a tight 90 minute set. Started and closed with their (according to Spotify) hits. Some of the women in the front row of the audience looked like they’d very willfully give up their first born for the singer.

My time with Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to a close. I am playing the epilogue section. To delay the eventual main story ending, I focus most of my attention on the side tasks and finishing the trapper’s clothing catalog. Even though I have and am still enjoying this game well after 100 hours of playtime, I feel some fatigue. I could use a new game.
