Welcome to the public web log of Fred Lambuth
There are no published links on my site, but appending /stats to the homepage’s URL will show the barest of HTML I cobbled together to start a feature I want to show me my recent data, other than the top track and artist I show on the homepage. The steps are not that time consuming, but they do require some design decisions and I am in no mood for that kind of computer work. I just wanted to make click-clack noises on my luxurious mechanical keyboard.
The latest ebook in my current reading materials is a memoir of a scholar who pulled herself out from the rampant poverty in the northeastern England coal mining town she grew up in during the 1970s and 80s. The book description promised that the personal narrative would sweep out to touch the global forces at play that put her hometown in an almost inescapable poverty spiral. So far I find it to have the same lessons and pacing as Hillbilly Elegy.
His book made several salient points about how the Rustbelt has an economic malaise that has yet to be properly addressed by the US government, let alone private enterprise. Boy, that author turned out to be somebody I would not vote for. I have not actually heard one bit of the platform he had that persuaded his Ohio constituency. I can’t imagine there would me much I would agree with if he was endorsed by Donald J. Trump.
